Historical novelist tries her hand at the 21st century - and you are welcome
to watch the experiment unfold.

The Vineyard Gazette, "the newspaper of record on Martha's Vineyard Island
since 1846," will be publishing Nicole's first contemporary story, which she
will write week-by-week for regular Friday publication from Memorial Day
Weekend 2008 through Memorial Day Weekend 2009. The story - a
tongue-in-cheek riff on a famous American literary masterpiece - will
unfold in real time across that span of time, reflecting the actual weather,
news, small-town politics and tourist shenanigans endured by the year-round
inhabitants of Martha's Vineyard. It will be supplemented by a blog that
readers can access from this website.
