This book was written during a period of great physical upheaval in my life. It took longer to write it than it took its characters to live it, and during the process, I arguably laid my head to rest in more places than they themselves did. For my own entertainment, I’ve tried to compile a list of all the places I dwelt or tarried while writing the book. In an order that roughly reflects how long I spent in each respective place (most to least), here we are.

Besides three understanding landlords, I was sheltered in the above locales by a wide variety of folks. I am grateful for the kindness of, and shared good times with: Bill and Rachel Galland; Alan and Maureen Crumpler; Karen and Michael Colaneri; Stephie Goethals and Matthias, Paul and Charlotte Groebel; Laurence Bouvard and Ariel Calver; Ruth, Maurice, Ariella and Ezra Levitch; Philip, Becky and Harry Resnik; Jeff, Lori, Sam and David Korn; Amy, Steve and Maude Utstein; Beryl, David, Molly and Jackson Vaughan; Ray and Janet Thomas
